The Minotaur was half bull, half human and a central character in the Greek myth of Theseus, son of Aegeus, king of Athens. This creature was confined in an intricately constructed maze called the Labyrinth, built on the island of Crete, and periodically fed human sacrifices. It was eventually killed by Theseus,aided by Ariadne, the daughter of Crete's King Minos.
