MONKEYMAN
& O'BRIEN
"What
do you get when you mix the beautiful daughter of a brilliant
scientist with an extra-dimensional radiation
bath? You get Ann
O'Brien, half of the dimension-hopping, monster-battling team
of Monkeyman & O'Brien! This uber-woman
and super-intelligent gorilla are the
only things standing between the people
of earth
and the menace of living gargoyles, frogs from space, and the
Shrewmanoid with his army of monsters!"
— Monkeyman and O'Brien
Comic
artist Arthur Adams devised these characters
and their
stories,
which were initially published by Dark Horse comics. Inspired
by the
1933 movie "King
Kong," Adams
decided
that Ann
O'Brien
should be seven feet tall and immensely strong, the result of
exposure
to an unknown type of radiation. Axwell Tiberius, nicknamed Monkeyman
by Ann, was a brilliant scientist from another dimension, accidentally
stranded on earth.
Together,
they formed a unique, monster-fighting
team, and
here they
are, immortalized
in pre-painted
resin.
